Are there any items you won't move?
For everyone’s safety, there are a few items we cannot transport. These include hazardous materials such as flammable liquids, propane tanks, explosives, corrosives, and chemicals, as well as perishable food, live plants, and pets. We also recommend personally transporting irreplaceable valuables such as jewelry, important documents, family photos, keys, and other sentimental items. If you’re unsure whether a particular item can be moved, simply ask your move coordinator.
Should I remove the contents of my drawers before the move?
Yes. We recommend removing the contents of all drawers and packing them into moving boxes. Empty drawers help reduce the weight placed on the furniture, prevent drawers from opening during transport, and minimize the risk of damage. Taking this extra step helps ensure your furniture arrives safely.
Do I need to empty my filing cabinets before moving?
Yes. All filing cabinets should be completely emptied before moving. Wooden cabinets and furniture with drawers should also have all contents removed to prevent damage during transportation and to make the items safer and easier to handle.
What do I need to do before moving appliances?
Before moving day, all appliances should be emptied, cleaned, and disconnected. Dishwashers, refrigerators, washing machines, dryers, and microwaves should be free of water and contents. Please note that our movers are not licensed plumbers or electricians, so customers should arrange for qualified professionals to disconnect appliances, gas lines, water lines, chandeliers, or any permanently installed fixtures before the move.
