We used Stairhoppers for a move from Boston to Virginia and couldn't be more happy with the experience. In addition to the flat rate for the move and delivery, we also used them for packing and unpacking services. The moving day happened to be during a Nor'Easter and the crew was very careful to wrap all of our items with extra blankets so nothing got wet. Overall I highly recommend Stairhoppers.

Learn moreLong Distance Moving FAQs
Can you move me between different cities or states?
Yes. Long-distance and interstate moving are among our specialties, and we provide moving services throughout the contiguous United States. Unlike many moving companies that combine shipments, we use dedicated trucks whenever possible, meaning your belongings travel directly from your old home to your new one. You’ll receive an upfront, flat-rate, all-inclusive quote with no hidden fees, so you’ll know exactly what to expect from start to finish.
How can I get a quote for my long-distance move?
Getting a quote is easy and completely free. Call us at (857) 928-0876 or complete our online Free Moving Estimate form. To provide the most accurate quote, we’ll ask for your pickup and delivery locations, move date, inventory, access details, and any specialty items you may have.
How long does a long-distance move take?
Delivery times vary depending on the distance, route, weather, and scheduling requirements. During your estimate, your move coordinator will provide an expected delivery window based on your specific move. Because we use dedicated trucks whenever possible, your belongings are transported directly to your destination without unnecessary delays caused by combining multiple shipments.
Do you use shared trucks for long-distance moves?
No. We strive to provide dedicated trucks for long-distance moves whenever possible. This means your belongings are not mixed with another customer’s shipment, helping reduce handling, minimize delays, and provide faster, more reliable delivery.
Do I need to pay a deposit to reserve my move?
Yes. A deposit is required to reserve your moving date and secure your crew. Please note that deposits are non-refundable. If you cancel your move, the deposit cannot be refunded or transferred to a different reservation. We recommend booking only once you’re confident in your moving date.
What payment methods do you accept, and when is payment due?
Your deposit is collected when you book your move, and the remaining balance is typically due upon completion of the move once everything has been delivered and placed in your new home. Your move coordinator will review all payment details with you before moving day so there are no surprises.
